Dermatoglyphics is the scientific study of fingerprints. It comes from two ancientGreek words – “derma” means skin and “glyph” means carve. The term was coined by Dr. Harold Cummins, the father of American fingerprint analysis. Even though the process of fingerprint identification had already been used for several hundred years.

Scientist found that, in mother womb human fingerprints form from13th week to 21st week & simultaneously neocortex (brain) also develops .Fingerprints are our genetic traits exposed outside our body. No two persons in the world have same fingerprints& genes. So we may conclude that a fingerprint is an external display of Gene & Brain structure.
